Becca: Stories from our collective lives.

Tonight's adventure: Heather and Becca Go to the Library!

Well, tonight's escapade included searching fruitlessly for a Florence and the Machine CD; almost-not-finding Frank Sinatra, but in the end finding him because Heather is JUST that awesome; searching for a variety of books and DVDs as directed by a list Morgan wrote and becoming moderately discouraged when we could find only a small portion of the titles he asked for; pointing out a random guy who had awesome dreadlocks; discovering, after asking a library employee where the mystery section was, that said section was supposed to have a large sign beside it that was to read "MYSTERY" in bold, eye-catching letters; feeling foolish because we hadn't figured that out ourselves; and THEN discovering that the mystery section does NOT, in fact, have any such sign denoting it, and that it consists of only one section of a shelf, and in turn realizing that the term "mystery section" can only be applied in the vaguest sense.

Once we were by the check-out-desk-place-thing, we were fairly giddy, and were giggling the phrase, "Five-point-five-feet-of-GLORYYY" (an inside joke that will probably be explained to you at some point in the future) back and forth at each other until Heather's mom came downstairs to join us. And yes, for those of you who must ask, it is possible to giggle words. If you've never tried it, you've probably never been a teenage girl. Consider yourself lucky.

Also, once we were done scaring the library workers and were in the parking lot, as I was putting my backpack and stack of books in the trunk of the car, I felt someone grab hold of me and start attempting to "rough me up". PANIC! Oh, wait ...

"Heather, what are you doing?," I asked.

"I'm MUGGING YOU!!," she replied.

I sighed. "Mugging people is wrong, Heather," I scolded, and proceeded to get in the car.

:) So remember, kids: mugging people is wrong.

Keep on smiling!

Becca: Fascinations, Part Two

Fascination #2: The Office

Okay, I know I said I'd talk about People Watching (my favorite sport), but I just so happen to be in the middle of an obsession with The Office. Personally, I don't like Steve Carell. I don't even like him in the TV show I'm currently obsessed with, which makes no sense, seeing as he's the main character of said television program. However, I looooove The Office. I enjoy it to such an extent that I have been watching the series on DVD, episode by episode, and just finished Season 3 last night. I've been watching since late December, so it's been about three weeks. And I would like to note the fact that I watched Seasons 4 and 5 first, so in less than three weeks I have watched 5 Seasons - that's 5 years' worth - of The Office. Even when I was obsessed with Highlander (Adrian Paul is awesome! THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!), I didn't watch it THAT much. Oy.

And, by the way, the people I have to blame for my new-found love of The Office are none other than our beloved Heather and her brother Ian. Just a couple of months ago, they sat me down and we watched three or four episodes, none of which I liked. They were laughing aloud while I just sat back and attempted to be amused. I did not like it at all. In fact, I disliked it. And then Ian went on a trip and one thing led to another and I borrowed the fourth season from him. I did this, not for my own sake. No. No, it was a much more noble, selfless reason. I borrowed that DVD set in order to try to find some appreciation for the show so that I could share in their enjoyment of it.

And then, wouldn't you know it, I got hooked! Yeesh ...

And now I know that I really am hooked, because the night before last I had a dream that I was Dwight Shrute's co-worker and we gallivanted around a city which I can only presume was New York City, on one of Dwight's insane escapades. And I'm pretty sure that at one point he was replaced by Robo-Dwight, and I was very concerned.

So yeah. That's really all I have to say about that. And you should know that after I typed that little blip about Highlander, I went to Hulu and found that they still offer episodes from all the seasons of that, and I am now watching "Pharaoh's Daughter" (admittedly, not one of the best episodes, but I've watched all my favorites to death). Hehe. :)

Alright, everybody! Until next time,

Keep on smiling!

Heather: PinkFlamingos.

Do you know something?
I like music.
I like music A LOT.
Like, I literally can't go 10 minutes in silence.. I'll either turn on the radio, put in a CD, or start humming something. Once I heard that 'music is what feelings sound like', and that makes perfect sense to me.

Do you agree? Think about it for a second. It makes perfect sense.. but then it doesn't.
So as one of my best friends likes to say: "It makes sense if you don't think about it." ...think about THAT one for a bit. ;)

But really. Could we live without music? I know that's kind of a weird question, and most people would answer: "Pshh, duh." BUT, birds sing. Water makes that cool sound when it hits against rocks(and you've gotta except that as some kind of music..), and wind certainly has a melody it follows.  So my statement for the day is, if God didn't make music, HOW THE HECK COULD WE STAY SANE?!?! Juuuust sayin'.

So yeah!

...I'm sure at one point in this blog post you thought: "whatintheworld does the title have to do with this topic?"...The truth is, it doesn't. Learn to love my creative mind. ;)

Don't spray paint your poodles, and remember to smile. :)

Becca: Fascinations, Part One

I have several random things I am obsessed/fascinated with. I thought I'd go ahead and go through one of them with you at a time, starting tonight.

1. Handwriting. Good, bad, fluid, blocky, three-year-old style, whatever, I like handwriting! I like analyzing handwriting and trying out new styles of letters. In 2010 I started writing my lower-case "a" the way it appears in this font - with the "tail" on top instead of in the back where it is "supposed" to go. I liked it for a while, and then late last month I switched back to the "normal" way of writing lower-case "a"s. Why? No particular reason; I just felt like my handwriting needed a change. Well, that, and ... I've always thought that if I mastered several different personal handwriting styles, if I ever commit and/or am suspected of a crime, and I am required to submit a handwriting sample (I've seen it done on CSI ... don't judge me), I can fake them out! :D Brilliant idea, right? I know.

Well, that's all I have for now. Next time: People Watching!

Keep on smiling!

P.S. Yes, I did renovate the blog's look. What do you think?
