Becca: Fascinations, Part Two

Fascination #2: The Office

Okay, I know I said I'd talk about People Watching (my favorite sport), but I just so happen to be in the middle of an obsession with The Office. Personally, I don't like Steve Carell. I don't even like him in the TV show I'm currently obsessed with, which makes no sense, seeing as he's the main character of said television program. However, I looooove The Office. I enjoy it to such an extent that I have been watching the series on DVD, episode by episode, and just finished Season 3 last night. I've been watching since late December, so it's been about three weeks. And I would like to note the fact that I watched Seasons 4 and 5 first, so in less than three weeks I have watched 5 Seasons - that's 5 years' worth - of The Office. Even when I was obsessed with Highlander (Adrian Paul is awesome! THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!), I didn't watch it THAT much. Oy.

And, by the way, the people I have to blame for my new-found love of The Office are none other than our beloved Heather and her brother Ian. Just a couple of months ago, they sat me down and we watched three or four episodes, none of which I liked. They were laughing aloud while I just sat back and attempted to be amused. I did not like it at all. In fact, I disliked it. And then Ian went on a trip and one thing led to another and I borrowed the fourth season from him. I did this, not for my own sake. No. No, it was a much more noble, selfless reason. I borrowed that DVD set in order to try to find some appreciation for the show so that I could share in their enjoyment of it.

And then, wouldn't you know it, I got hooked! Yeesh ...

And now I know that I really am hooked, because the night before last I had a dream that I was Dwight Shrute's co-worker and we gallivanted around a city which I can only presume was New York City, on one of Dwight's insane escapades. And I'm pretty sure that at one point he was replaced by Robo-Dwight, and I was very concerned.

So yeah. That's really all I have to say about that. And you should know that after I typed that little blip about Highlander, I went to Hulu and found that they still offer episodes from all the seasons of that, and I am now watching "Pharaoh's Daughter" (admittedly, not one of the best episodes, but I've watched all my favorites to death). Hehe. :)

Alright, everybody! Until next time,

Keep on smiling!

- Becca
